Our Dive Master Training (DMT) internship plan offers the possibility of receiving all the mandatory training to become a Dive Master plus the opportunity to experience first-hand the ins and outs of the diving business industry through actual real work in our PADI 5 star IDC center.
With this plan, you will be able to learn the basics to guide divers underwater plus many other skills, such as guest assistance and dive logistics, equipment handling and filling station support or environmental and conservation activities.
At the end of the internship, you will be a complete dive professional, not only in the water, but in the surface as well!
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be fluent in English.
- You must be a certified PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent.
- Have at least 40 logged dives (by the time you start your DM training)
- Medical clearance to dive within 12 months.
- Be in good physical health.
- Complete an Emergency Action Plan.
- Have completed EFR Primary and Secondary course within 24 months.
- A commitment to protecting the environment.
- Strict adherence to safe diving practices.
- A caring nature and desire to help people.
- Willingness to work in a team environment along the rest of the staff.
- Willingness to learn all aspect of a diving operation; from office to filling tanks.
- Desire to contribute to our social media networks.
Equipment
All equipment is included although we recommend that you have your own. By now, you should, at least, have your own mask, snorkel, SMB, torch and computer. We can help you find best deals nearby.
Unlimited diving
You can dive as much as you want during your course, either shore dives in the sardine run or in the boat (subject to availability).
Accommodation
We offer free accommodation during your training period in a shared air-conditioned dormitory with 8 bunk beds, hot shower and a big lounge on the second floor of the dive center, overlooking the ocean.

Internship period
The PADI Divemaster program is a major milestone on the path to becoming a dive professional. It offers comprehensive training and develops both your theoretical knowledge and practical diving skills to a professional level.
We recommend allowing at least three weeks to complete the course; however, the more time you dedicate, the more confident, competent, and comfortable you will become in your role. Ideally, we suggest planning for around six weeks to gain the most from the experience.
You’re welcome to start at a time that works best for you. If you’re working with a specific schedule or need help planning your timeline, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to discuss the options and find the best setup for you.
Course Structure
. Theoretical Knowledge Development
The program includes in-depth study of dive theory, physics, physiology, equipment, decompression theory, and the underwater environment. Throughout the course, candidates receive comprehensive instruction to build a strong foundation in these essential principles.
. Water Skills Assessment
During your Divemaster training, you are required to complete five water skills exercises and achieve a combined minimum score of 15. These exercises include:
- 400-meter swim
- 15-minute tread (no swim aids)
- 800-meter swim (mask, snorkel, and fins)
- 100-meter diver tow
- Equipment exchange
These assessments ensure you demonstrate the stamina, comfort, and skill level expected of a professional-level diver.

Amigos Dive Center Manager Internship
The Dive Shop Manager Internship is a structured, professional training program designed for individuals who want to develop strong operational, administrative, and leadership skills within a high-performing dive center. This internship provides comprehensive exposure to the full management workflow of a busy dive shop and is suitable for candidates pursuing careers in diving, hospitality, tourism, or outdoor recreation management.
Interns work closely with the management team and are trained to understand and support all shop operations. This includes guest coordination, equipment logistics, staff communication, scheduling procedures, quality control, and efficient day-to-day shop administration. The program emphasizes responsibility, accuracy, service excellence, and professional communication in a multilingual, international environment.
Core Training Areas
• Guest Service & Front-Desk Operations: Handling inquiries, coordinating diver check-ins, assisting with bookings, briefing guests on procedures, and maintaining smooth customer flow throughout the day.
• Equipment Management & Logistics: Understanding the full equipment cycle—including inventory preparation, issuance, quality checks, maintenance coordination, and end-of-day gear processing.
• Operational Coordination: Supporting instructors and divemasters with schedule planning, dive group organization, boat departures, materials preparation, and communication between teams.
• Administrative Support: Maintaining records, assisting with reports, organizing documentation, and ensuring operational consistency in line with dive center standards.
• Safety & Protocol Implementation: Following and reinforcing established safety procedures, equipment handling protocols, and emergency readiness practices.
• Professional Conduct & Team Leadership: Developing reliability, decision-making, conflict prevention, situational awareness, and effective communication across multicultural teams.

Candidate Profile
This internship is designed for individuals who are motivated, responsible, and eager to learn. Ideal candidates possess strong English communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. A diving background is preferred but not required; training will be provided as part of the internship structure.
Program Purpose
The Dive Shop Manager Internship offers practical industry exposure and prepares trainees for future roles such as Dive Shop Manager, Divemaster, Instructor, Operations Coordinator, or broader positions in hospitality and resort management. It is a hands-on, real-world learning program that builds competence, confidence, and professional readiness.
